Richard E. "Dick" Chrzan, 69, of Kendall Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 8:23 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 2, in Memorial Hospital. Mr. Chrzan was employed at Flowers by Stephens. He was born on March 26, 1930 in South Bend. Dick was a member of Our Lady of Hungary Church, its choir for 30 years and the Holy Name Society. He also was a lifetime member of the South Bend Civic Theater, The American Legion Post 357 and served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by a sister, Maryann Nemeth-Pairitz of Mishawaka, Katharine Pairitz-Hirl of Mishawaka, and Kristine Pairitz-Spencer of Munster, Ind.; a nephew, Stephen Zigmond Pairitz of Mishawaka; two great-nieces, Rachael Spencer and Teresa Pairitz; and by a great-nephew, Daniel Spencer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 6, in Our Lady of Hungary Church. Military services will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 5, in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue, where a Rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to the Our Lady of Hungary Holy Name Building Fund.
