May 13, 1930 – March 17, 2015

Rosemary Ann McColley, 84, of South Bend died unexpectedly at 4:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 17th in her residence. Mrs. McColley was born May 13, 1930 in South Bend to the late Irene (Borsodi) and Stephen Herczeg and was a lifetime area resident. On February 14, 1953 in South Bend as Rosemary Ann Herczeg she married Dale E. McColley who survives. Also surviving are her daughter, Nancy A. Moreland (David) of South Bend; two sons, David B. McColley (Cheryl) and Thomas P. McColley both of South Bend; four grandchildren, Bryan Bush and Ryan McColley both of South Bend, Lindsay McColley of Bay City, MI and Michael P. Moreland of South Bend; one great-granddaughter, Harper Bush; three brothers, Stephen Herczeg (Sheila), Anthony Herczeg (Nancy) and Lewis Herczeg (Nancy) all of South Bend; and a sister-in-law, Sheila Herczeg of Lakeville, IN. She was preceded in death by a son, Kevin M. McColley; sister, Betty Molnar; and three brothers, James and Joseph Herczeg, and Carl Alasko.
Rosemary graduated from Riley High School and Memorial Hospital School of nursing as a registered nurse. She was a sports fan and her favorite teams were the Indiana Hoosiers and the Chicago Cubs. She and Dale attended many I.U. football games and had popular tail gate parties. She also enjoyed watching Nascar.Rosemary also loved bird watching and was a member of the National Audubon Society. She could always help you identify a bird if you did not know the name. She enjoyed completing cross word puzzles and many a time could be found at her kitchen table working on them.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 20th in the Cathedral of St. Matthew, 1701 Miami St. Cremation will follow at Welsheimer Crematory. The family will receive friends in the cathedral on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of mass.
