SOUTH BEND - Mildred I. "Molly" Kline, 77, of New Port Richey, Florida, formerly of South Bend, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 19, in Plano, Texas. She was born on July 7, 1930, in South Bend, to the late Loren and Esther (Trager) Pennell.

Molly graduated from Riley High School.

On October 8, 1950, in South Bend, she married Gerald E. Kline, who preceded her in death on August 19, 1972. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Janet L. Kline; her son, Michael Kline; and by her sister, Helen "Penny" Butterworth.

Molly retired from Memorial Hospital where she worked as a pharmacy technician. Molly was very involved in her daughters' upbringing, being active in Girl Scouts as a troop leader, PTA, Band Boosters and other parent organizations. After moving to New Port Richey, she served as a volunteer at Community Hospital there. Molly was an independent, adventurous woman known for her infectious laugh who loved to travel, see the world, fish, garden, have new experiences and be with her family.

Molly is survived by her loving daughter, Karen Kline Hollander, D.V.M., and her husband, Andrew of Plano, TX; four sisters, Ruth (Ernest) Moon of South Bend, Roberta Moorhead of New Port Richey, FL, Phyllis Ramsbey of North Liberty and Marian (Jacque) Hollister of South Bend; and a brother, Richard (Joan) Pennell of Kingwood, TX.

A memorial service to celebrate Molly's life will be held on Oct. 6th at 3 p.m. in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 521 N. William Street, South Bend. Friends are invited to meet with her family two hours prior to the start of service. The family will have a private burial of her ashes at Highland Cemetery, South Bend, IN. In loving memory of Molly, contributions may be made to either Hernando-Pasco Hospice, 6807 Rowan Road, New Port Richey, FL 34653; or to The American Humane Association, 63 Inverness Drive East, Englewood, CO 80112.
