Agnes Mary (Spaulding) Wiley
January 6, 1929 ~ March 7, 2023 94 Years Old
Agnes Mary Wiley, 94, a lifelong South Bend resident, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend. She was born January 6, 1929 to the late Elmer and Ethel (Baker) Spaulding.
In 1951 at St. Matthew Cathedral in South Bend, Agnes married Carl Wiley, Sr., who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Carl Wiley Jr. and Joseph Wiley; and two brothers, Donald and Bernard Spaulding. She is survived by one niece, Debbie of England; and three nephews, Bernie Jr., David and Robert Spaulding, all from Colorado.
Agnes worked as an LPN, serving various area hospitals for 30 years. She also held a private pilot’s license in civil air patrol. Agnes was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis and attended St. Therese, Little Flower Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1pm Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at St. Therese Little Flower Catholic Church, 54191 N. Ironwood Road, South Bend, IN 46635. Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.
