MISHAWAKA - Mrs. Catherine Ella (Curtis) Polcyn, 92, passed away Tuesday in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. Kay was born in Bradley, IL, to Stephen Alex and Bertha P. (Francoeur) Curtis.

She was married on August 25, 1925 to Edward J. Polcyn, who passed away on February 14, 2002. Also preceding her in death were her five sisters, Lillian Rajski, Florence Nemeth, Marie Stickler, Margaret Turk, and Marcelline Curtis; and her four brothers, Alex, Amos, John Paul, and Steve.

She retired after 24 years in the accounting and billing department of South Bend Stamping, later known as Allied Stamping.

Kay was a 1937 graduated of Riley High School.

She was Past President of the Army & Navy Club #291 Auxiliary in South Bend. She was a member of St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church where she served as Vice-President of the Lady's Sodality. She loved reading, family, perfume, and fashion, and at any family gathering she was always the best-dressed woman. She leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and friends that have fond memories of her.

Internment will take place with privates services held at a later date. McGann Hay, Morning Star Funerals & Cremations is handling the arrangements.
