Doris (Swisher) Claudon 

June 9, 1919 — Feb. 13. 2005

Doris Claudon, 85, of South St. Joseph Street, South Bend, Ind., died at 9:50 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Claudon was born on June 9, 1919, in South Bend, to the late Burr and Della (Cox) Swisher, and was a lifetime area resident.

On April 6, 1945, in South Bend, she married Raymond J. Claudon, who preceded her in death on June 9, 2000. She was also preceded in death by two stepsons, Robert E. and Richard L. Claudon; and two sisters, Mary O'Dell and Georgia Sample. She is survived by five grandchildren, Gayle Martin, Barbara Doroh, Lisa Sherman, and Ron and Greg Claudon; and several nieces and nephews, including Georgia M. Holcomb of Osceola, Ind. Mrs. Claudon retired as a claims representative in the benefits department of the Bendix Corporation in 1958.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., with Rev. David Doane of Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow on Friday, Feb. 18, at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Friends may call Thursday from 2 p.m. until the time of services at 4 p.m. it the funeral home.
