Margie (Hawblitzel) Stuart

SOUTH BEND - Margie Stuart, 82, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away Monday, December 14, 2015, after a couple years of declining health. She was born October 10, 1933, in South Bend, to the late C. Duewaine and Helen (Gushwa) Hawblitzel, and lived in the South Bend/Mishawaka area all her life.
Mrs. Stuart graduated from Riley High School in 1951 and in October of that year married William Stuart. They were divorced in 1976. Mr. Stuart passed away in January 25, 2004.
She is survived by her two sons, David and his wife Linda of Berrien Springs, Michigan, and Dale and his wife Gloria of Australia; one daughter, Carolyn Stuart of Crowne Point, Indiana; four granddaughters, Lisa Stuart of Australia, Danielle Stuart of Illinois, Christina Miller of Colorado and Erika Machuca of Illinois; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Kay Fisher and her husband, Leonard of Niles, Michigan.
Among the places Margie worked were Chippewa Bowl and as a secretary in the Patent Department at Allied Signal, Inc. (Bendix). Her last place of employment was Southside Christian Church, where she served as a part-time secretary and retired in May of 2006. She was a member of the First Seventh-day Adventist Church in South Bend.
A memorial service honoring Margie's life will be held January 10, 2016, at 1 pm at the First Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1910 Altgeld St., South Bend, Indiana 46614.
Honoring her wishes, the family requests no flowers and instead, memorial contributions may be made to The King's Herald, PO Box 654, Portland, TN; or to a charity of the donor's choice.
Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
