It is with sadness and the deepest respect that we announce the passing of Robert 'Bob' Werntz, on March 7, 2024 at Hanson Hospice House in Stevensville, MI. Born in South Bend, IN, on November 7, 1956, Robert hailed from a place where the heart of America beats strong, and he carried that warmth with him throughout his life. Robert was a creative soul with an eye for beauty and a funny, loving personality that brought joy to all those around him. He was a talented man, with a knack for bringing out the best in people. As a manager in retail for many years, he retired to the serene town of Dowagiac, MI, where he continued to touch lives with his charm and compassion.

Bob was an avid runner, a hobby that mirrored his approach to life; he took every day in stride, always moving forward with an unwavering spirit. He had a love for gardening and took pride in the vegetables that he grew. His passion for reading reflected his thirst for knowledge and his curiosity about the world. His talents also shone brightly in his work as a cartoon artist, where his creativity and humor came to life. Bob carried an unwavering love for the Seattle Sea Hawks and was a lifelong fan of Notre Dame, showing his loyalty and commitment. Above all, Bob cherished family gatherings and spending time with his beloved pet, Charley.

Bob is survived by his brother, John (Carole) Werntz of Elkhart, IN, and his sister, Lori (Jim) Robinson of Gulfport, MS; and 7 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Robert Werntz, his mother Lorraine Werntz, his sister Robin Mott, and his brother Joe Werntz.

His loss is deeply felt by all who knew him, but his spirit lives on in the love and memories he leaves behind.
