Frank G. Koloszar, 90, of South Bend, Indiana passed away at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2022, in Wellbrooke of South Bend.  Frank was born on December 29, 1931 in South Bend to Frank L. Koloszar and Elizabeth (Nyikos) Koloszar, and was a lifelong resident. 

He retired in 1976 as a Captain with the South Bend Fire Department, where he was employed for 21 ½ years. 

On February 16, 1952, in Holy Cross Catholic Church, he married Norma J. Kruszysnki, who survives.  Frank is also survived by his daughter, Brenda (Andrew) Durrenberger of South Bend, Indiana; his son, David (Theodora) Koloszar of South Bend, Indiana; three grandchildren, Gabriel Koloszar, Sally Durrenberger and Kelly Durrenberger; and two great-grandchildren, Carson Bell and Payton Nichols.  He was preceded in death by his son, F. Gary Koloszar; his sister, Betty Urbanski; and his brother, Robert Koloszar. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2022 in St. John the Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, where members of the United States Army will conduct Military Services. A visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the church. 

Frank was a member of St. John the Baptist Parish.  He served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1952 -1954 and was a member of the American Legion Pulaski Post #357. Frank was a charter member of the St. Joseph River Valley Fly Fishers Club.  Frank was avid fly fisherman and Cubs fan.  He enjoyed fly fishing at his cabin in upper Michigan.  His grandchildren were the light of his life.
