Edward Francis Kurowski, Jr.

FAIRFAX, VA - Edward Francis Kurowski Jr., 53, of Fairfax, VA, passed away on December 26, 2010. He was born in South Bend, IN, on April 10, 1957, to Edward (deceased) and Jo Myers. He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Patricia, and his children, Ed, Julie, Elizabeth and Anna, all of Fairfax, VA. He graduated from James Whitcomb Riley High School, South Bend, and George Mason University, Washington, DC. Ed worked for The American Society for Microbiology as a computer programmer.

He is survived by his mother, Jo Myers of Mishawaka, sisters, Carol (Terry) Rupert, Margaret Goldsmith, Mary Jo (Mark) Mankowski, Barbra (Eric) Atkins and Jennifer (Blake) Hochetetler, all of South Bend, Dorie (Jeff Erickson) Gunderson, Granger; and brothers, Patrick (Fria) Kurowski, South Bend, Michael Kurowski, Louisville, KY, and Mark (Sandi) Kurowski of Munster, IN; along with many nieces and nephews. Ed will be dearly missed by many other relatives, friends, and pets.

He was a self-proclaimed handyman, and his love for animals led him to volunteer with HART, Homeless Animals Rescue Team.

A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 31, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Timothy's Catholic Church, 13807 Poplar Tree Road, Chantilly, VA 20151. Friends may call in the Everly Funeral Home, 10565 Main Street, Fairfax, VA, on Friday, December 31, 2010, from noon till 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ed's memory to Homeless Animals Rescue Team (HART), P.O. Box 7261, Fairfax Station, VA 22039; or to A Forever-Home Rescue Foundation, P.O. Box 222801, Chantilly, VA 20153.
