Joseph M. Sauer, 45, of Sixth Street in Mishawaka, Ind., died Sunday, July 6, in his residence following two years of failing health. He was born in Bremen, Ind., on Nov. 2, 1957, to James A. and Anna (Kovach) Sauer. Joseph was preceded in death by his father. Joseph graduated from Studebaker Elementary and attended Riley High School.

He was a member of St. Andrew's United Church of Christ. Joseph was a cook at Wander Inn for 15 years. He loved to cook, fish and ride his bicycle.

He is survived by his mother, Anna (Carl) Fette of Lake City, Pa.; a sister, Sheri (David) McClurg of Mishawaka; two brothers, Keith "Rounder" (Ginger Jackson) Sauer of Mishawaka and Pat (Sherry Sly) Sauer of Mishawaka; nine nieces, Aubrey, Kalee, Chelsea, Stephani (Jason) Mazurkiewicz, Nichole, Rose, Grace, Lanee and Amber; one great-niece, Alyssa; seven nephews, Justin, Travis, Josh, Shawn, Josh, Chad and Roscoe; two stepbrothers, Douglas (Robyn) Fette and Carl (Susan) Fette, both of Pennsylvania; and by a stepsister, Crystal (Bill Davis) Stinedurf of Pennsylvania.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 12, in St. Andrew's United Church of Christ, with Rev. Dale Speckman officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
