Darrell G. Shipley

Darrell G. Shipley, 63, of Niles passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2022. He was born May 2, 1959, in South Bend, IN to Eldon V. Shipley and Margie M. Shipley (Wirth).
Darrell earned his Associates Degree from Ivy Tech and was a machinist in the steel industry working with special metals for over 20 years before retirement. Darrell loved fishing, enjoyed music, especially Pink Floyd and he was a great Baker, just like his mom. He was extremely artistic and intelligent. His knowledge of astronomy is impeccable. Darrell also loved watching and collecting movies.
Darrell is survived by his son, Jason Shipley and his companion Oryen Walker of South Bend, along with his mother Terri Bryan. Also surviving are his sisters, Darlys (Jim) Glick of Niles, Glynis (Jim) Skwarcan of South Bend, his brother, Darwin (Vicky) Shipley of South Bend, sister-in-law, Doris Shipley of Florida, along with a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He also leaves behind his loyal dog, Max.
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Quentin Shipley.
Funeral Services for Darrell will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at Palmer Funeral Home – Welsheimer North Chapel. Friends may visit with family from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service.
