Emerson M. "Bud" Elliott

Emerson M. "Bud" Elliott, 91, of Mishawaka, passed away of natural causes on Sunday evening, May 1, 2005, in his home. He was born February 26, 1914, in Syracuse, Ind., to the late John and Jessie E. (Groom) Elliott. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Ann Harris in 2002.

On December 27, 1938, in South Bend, he married the former Maxine Decker, who died in 1995. Left to cherish his memory are a sister, Geraldine and Robert Green of South Bend; and a son-in-law, Larry Harris of Lake Mary, Florida.

Bud graduated from Riley High School in the second graduating class, and joined the Merchant Marines, serving for three years. He retired from Plast Steel in Walkerton, Indiana, as sales manager. He and Maxine lived for over 25 years in Port Richey, Florida, and belonged to the Timber Oaks Country Club where they enjoyed many activities. He was a life member of the Elks #2284 in New Port Richey and Masonic Lodge #294 F&AM.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today, May 3, 2005, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 17033 Cleveland Road, South Bend. The Rev. Denis Grant of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church will offici-ate, and entombment will be at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park following services. Friends may visit the family one hour before services. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County, 111 Su nnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
