Ruth Ann (Conkright) Seward Curtis

May 31, 1915 - April 22, 1997

Ruth Ann (Seward) Curtis, 81, who resided at Pleasant Lake, Edwardsburg, Mich., coming from South Bend, Ind., in 1957, passed away following a fall at her home on Tuesday, April 22, at Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Mrs. Curtis was born May 31, 1915, in Dowagiac, Mich., to Edward Thomas and Viola Maude Conkright.

She was married on Nov. 26, 1933, in South Bend, to Ralph "Bud" James Seward, who preceded her in death on April 21, 1962. She remarried on March 6, 1964, in South Bend, to Laddie "Gene" Curtis, a World War II Navy veteran, who also preceded her in death on Feb. 27, 1991.

She leaves to cherish her memory a son, Michael Edward (and his wife, Diane) Seward of Edwardsburg; and a daughter, Candice (and her husband, Paul) Seals of Niles, Mich.; five loving grandchildren, Paul and Candy Seals of Niles, Shane James and Raegan and Cortney Seward, all of Edwardsburg; and two great-grandchildren, Michael James and Nicholas Dale Seward.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. (Michigan time) today at the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:45 a.m. on Friday for a graveside service in Edwardsburg Cemetery, with Rev. Clarence Dycus, retired minister of Edwardsburg, officiating. Burial will be in Edwardsburg Cemetery.
