Mary Frances "Marifran" Cass

Nov. 13, 1915 - Dec. 12, 1971

 

Mary Frances (Denney) Cass, 56, of 24 Carriage Lane, Niles, formerly of South Bend, died at 7:50 p.m. Sunday in the Essex Nursing Home after a year long illness.

She was a former employee of the Holiday Inn, Niles. She was born on Nov. 13, 1915 in  Chicago  and had lived in Niles three years, moving there from South Bend.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Betty Jean (Schaber) Paholski and Miss Cynthia K. Cass, both of South Bend; a granddaughter, and a brother, Raymond Rockwell of Sturgis, Mich.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Rev. Jack O. Burrell, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery, Niles.

Mrs. Cass was a member of the auxiliary to Post 116, American Legion, Bertrand, Mich., and Post 1167, Ladies Auxiliary VFW.
