William E. Engle

SOUTH BEND— William E. Engle, 75. of 610 S. 32nd St., died at 8 a.m. Friday in Regency Place. He was re-tired from the Bendix Corp. purchasing department. He was born May 14, 1916, in Logansport, Ind., and spent most of his life in this area.

On Sept. 17, 1939, in South Bend, he married Evelyn P. Winenger. She survives with a daughter, Karen Purbeck of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; a son, Col. John William Engle stationed at Tacoma, Wash.; three grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Wolf of Auburn, Ind., and Margaret Thornton of Jeffersonville, Ind.; and two brothers, Edward of South Bend and Marion of Zephyrhills, Fla.

He was a member of Evangel Heights United Methodist Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Hollis-Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
