SOUTH BEND — Michael E. Fekete, 77, of South Kendall Street, died at 12:45 am. Saturday in Cardinal Nursing Center-Meridian.
He retired in 1979 from the Univer sity of Notre Dame. Born March 8, 1915, in South Bend, he was a lifelong area resident.

On May 7, 1949, in South Bend, he married Matilda Nogall. She survives with a daughter, Catherine Coleman of South Bend; three grandchildren; two sisters. Anne Fekete and Mary Ferger, both of South Bend; and a brother, Joseph of South Bend.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in Zahoran Funeral Home, where a combined rosary will be said at 3 p.m. by Sacred Heart and Rosary Society and by St. Ann's Society.
