SOUTH BEND — Lt. Col. James W. Rudig, 77. of Sacramento, Calif., died Friday in his home. Lt. Col. Rudig retired from the Air Force after 28 years of service. He was born Jan. 10, 1917, in Indiana.
He is survived by his wife, Florence Rudig of Sacramento; a daughter, Jeanne McChesney of Forest Hill, Calif.; two sons, James of Visalia, Calif., and Charles of Fairbanks, Alaska; a step-daughter, Linda McGill of Kellogg, Idaho: nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Jeanette Barney of South Bend and Carolyn Smith of Tonowanda, N.Y.
He was a veteran of World War II and received the Purple Heart. Sacramento Garden Chapel Mortuary handled arrangements.
