SOUTH BEND - Margaret Rose Balogh, 91, passed away at 1:55 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2011, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Margaret was born on October 1, 1919, in South Bend, to the late Ernest and Agnes (Prikosovich) Dragan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Balogh.

She is survived by her two daughters, Rebecca Balogh of Bradford, MA, and Gretchen Balogh of Pataskala, OH; son, Kim Balogh of South Bend; three sisters, Dorothy Heet of South Bend, Louise Baliant of South Bend and Wilma Jones of Chicago, IL; her two brothers, Fred Dragan and Ernest Dragan both of Winnetka, CA; a grandson, Blair Feivou of Los Angeles, CA; and great-granddaughter, Morgan Feivou of Los Angeles, CA.

Margaret was a parishioner of the Cathedral of St. Matthew, and formerly a parishioner of St. Michael's of Plymouth. She was an industrial nurse for Studebaker and a nurse for Memorial Hospital for many years. She was a prolific quilt maker, making almost 50 quilts. She also loved her cats.

Visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, April 7, 2011, in ST JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 1827 E. Ireland Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 8, 2011, in the Cathedral of St. Matthew. Burial will follow at New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth, IN. Memorial contributions may be made out to the American Cancer Society of Northern Indiana, 601 W. Edison Road, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
