SOUTH BEND - Mary Ann Miller, 88, of Woodside Street in South Bend, died at 12:07 a.m. Thursday, August 2, 2007, in the Morningside Nursing and Memory Center. Prior to her death she had also been a resident of Sterling House of South Bend and the Holy Cross Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in South Bend on June 28, 1919, to Andrew and Frances Jambrich, who preceded her in death.

Mary Ann married Gaylord W. Miller on May 10, 1941, who died October 16, 1991. Mrs. Miller is survived by a daughter, Beverly (David) Lotz of Yigo, Guam; a son, Allan (Kathy) Miller of South Bend; two grandsons, Jonathan (Angie) Lotz of Independence, MO, and Brian Miller of San Diego, CA; two sisters, Josephine Peiffer of South Bend and Frances Aanstoos of Vienna, VA. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was a lifetime member of St. Matthew's Cathedral in South Bend. Mary Ann graduated from Riley High School in 1938. She was a stay-at-home mother, always there if her family needed her. She was an avid Chicago White Sox fan.

Friends may spend time with the family on Monday, August 6, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., from 4 to 8 p.m. with the Rosary recited at 6:30 p.m. Visitation also will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 7, in St. Matthew's Cathedral, 1701 Miami Street, with Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Memorial contributions may be made to Southern Care Hospice or to Alzheimer's Services of Northern Indiana.
