Abe (Bem) Berebitsky

Abe (Bem) Berebitsky July 12, 1920 - Oct. 8, 2014 MISHAWAKA - Abe (Bem) Berebitsky passed away peacefully early October 8th 2014 at the age of 94. Abe, eighth of ten children, was born on July 12th, 1920 in the bustling metropolis of Kewanna, Indiana. Not able to handle life in the big city, Abe's family moved shortly after his birth to South Bend.

He graduated from Riley High School in 1939 then served his country in World War II as a Medical Technician in the Army for four years.

Upon his return he married the love of his life, Sylvia Smith, and went on to work in a variety of family businesses. Abe had a passion for reading and Notre Dame Football. There was not a more kind and gentle man than Abe and is greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Abe was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia; and his nine siblings, Louis, Fanny (Faygie), Sol, Hyman (Bytch), Eva, Sidney (Sid), David (Doc), George (Hank) and Harold (Teener).
