Russell J. GLASER, 76, 1201 Main St., Rochester, formerly of South Bend and Fort Wayne, died 6:45 p.m. Friday at his home.Born in South Bend to George and Ida KURZHAL GLASER, he married Betty REED on Sept 28, 1946 in South Bend. She died June 7, 1997.

Mr. Glaser was a retired steamfitter with International Harvester and Studebaker Corp. He attended Akron Church of God and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include two daughters, Sondra DeJARNETT Fort Wayne, and Ida GLASER, Indianapolis; one son, Russell G. GLASER, Albion; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Leona BURKE, Belvidere, Ill.; close friend, Betty MAHONEY, Rochester.

He was preceded in death by one grandson and one stepsister, Lucille KISH, South Bend

Services are at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Akron Church of God with Rev. Terry McGARRITY officiating. Rochester's American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Posts will conduct graveside services at Rochester I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. today at Zimmerman Family Funeral Home, Rochester, and from noon until services at the church on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to Hope Hospice.
