Helen M. (Pilsitz) Finlay

NILES - Helen M. Finlay, 88, of Beeson Road, Niles, MI, died at 11:05 a.m. Monday, November 15, 2010 in Rivercrest Specialty Hospital, Mishawaka, Indiana, following a brief illness. Mrs. Finlay was born on January 7, 1922, in Steelton, Pennsylvania, to Michael J. and Mary (Egersitz) Pilsitz.

She graduated from Riley High School in South Bend and had lived in Niles since 1952.

She was previously employed at Frankies and the Pickwick Club both in Niles and the Morris Inn at the University of Notre Dame. She also assisted her husband at John Finlay Advertising Company. She was a member of Saint Mary Catholic Church, Niles. She loved caring for her family.

On March 4, 1944, at Selman Field Air Force Base in Louisiana, she married John Finlay who preceded her in death on August 22, 2004. She was also preceded in death by five sisters and one brother.

Mrs. Finlay is survived by their son, John J. (Kay) Finlay of Culver, Indiana and daughters, Susan K. (Alfred "Bud") Dolan of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Lisa A. Montgomery of Osceola, Indiana, Christine (Jim) Reilly of South Bend, Janet J. (John "Jack") Kenney of Elkhart, Indiana, and Mary (Doug) Finlay-Sims-Tillotson of Mishawaka; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and sister, Rosilyn Smith of Woodbury, New Jersey.

Visitation, services and interment are pending and will be announced at a later date by the Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles. Contributions in memory of Helen may be made to the Renovation Fund at Saint Mary Catholic Church, Niles.
