Madelon Mardell (Burmeister) Ginter

Madelon M. Ginter , 77, residing on Bayswater Place, South Bend, Ind., passed away of natural causes at 9:40 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 17, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend.

Mrs. Ginter was born on Jan. 11, 1926, in South Bend, to the late Herman and Clara M. "Tede" (Carden) Burmeister. She had remained a lifelong area resident, and was a graduate of Riley High School. On June 12, 1948, in South Bend, she married George S. Ginter , who also preceded her in death on Sept. 9, 1987.

Mrs. Ginter retired from Dodge Reliance, Mishawaka, Ind., where she worked as a computer programmer. She formerly attended the First Christian Church, South Bend. Mrs. Ginter enjoyed sewing, fishing, golfing, and playing with her grandchildren, and watching their sporting events and special activities. She never missed one of her grandchildren's events. She donated her talents to the BABE organization and the Chiara Home.

Mrs. Ginter is survived by two daughters, Cindy (Marv) Moore of South Bend and Judy (Tim) Decker of South Bend; twin sons, Ron (Kathi) Ginter , Sr. of South Bend and Tom (Anne) Ginter Sr. of South Bend; 14 grandchildren, Ronnie Ginter , Garrett Ginter , Grant Ginter , Matt Ginter , Doug Ginter , Joel Ginter , Tom Ginter Jr., Andy Ginter , Daniel Ginter , Jennifer (David) Putz, Natalie Gibboney, Jordann Decker, Mindy Moore and Eric Moore; two great-grandsons, Carter and Jude Putz; and by a sister, Eldona (Jack) Futter of South Bend.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20, in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St., South Bend. Rev. Larry Baker, pastor of the First Brethren Church, South Bend, will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Sept. 19, in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be donated to the Chiara Home, 1105 W. Jefferson Blvd., South Bend, IN 46601-2618.
