Richard P. "Jake" Kraft

FRANKLIN - Richard Paul "Jake" Kraft, 85, of Franklin, IN, formerly of River Park, died at 4:00 PM Thursday, August 16, 2007, in the Indiana Masonic Home. He retired from Sears Roebuck & Company in 1980 after 30 years of service. He was born on December 17, 1921, in South Bend, IN, to Frank and Bertha (Otilda) Kraft, and lived most of his life in River Park.
On June 17, 1954, in South Bend, IN, he married Virginia C. Kraft, who preceded him in death on November 27, 1981. Mr. Kraft is survived by his brother, Lester Frank Kraft of Wildwood, FL, and two nephews, Ronald (Ilene) Kraft of Coweta, OK, and Raymond Kraft of South Bend.
His sister, Mildred J. Geyer, and one brother, Marvin Arthur Kraft, preceded him in death.
Mr. Kraft was a member of Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend, St. Joseph Lodge #45, F&AM and Moose Lodge #58.
He was a graduate of Riley High School and previously attended River Park United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 21, 2007, in the Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Rev. Ed Erskin will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN. Friends may call one hour prior to services in the funeral home on Tuesday.
