Eric "Rick" E. Rector
July 3, 1959 ~ October 6, 2021 (age 62)
Eric “Rick” E. Rector, of South Bend, passed away at the age of 62 on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born on July 3, 1959 in South Bend to Robert and Norma (Fieser) Rector. Rick attended Riley High School and worked for 35 years at Lock Joint Tube company.
On April 25, 1981 in South Bend he was united in marriage to Antionette “Anne” Miner, who survives. Rick was a loving husband, son, brother, and grandfather who loved spending time with his family, grilling outside, listening to classic rock music, and making jokes. He was a collector of personal protection items, and was a member of a HAM radio club and had the call sign N9KMD.
Rick is survived by his wife of 40 years, Anne; daughters Erin (Arturo) Garcia of South Bend, Ashley (Jerrod) Sherwood of Buchanan, Stephanie (Nicholas) Myers of South Bend; six grandchildren, Arturo Jr, Liliana, Christian, Brianna, Callia and Isabella; sisters, Jacqueline Porter, Gwen Rector and brother Greg Rector.
Funeral service for Rick will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at 11:00am at the Palmer Funeral Home – Guisinger Chapel. 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend. Pastor Mark Black will officiate. Friends may visit with the family on Monday, October 11 from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM at the funeral home as well as hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
