Katrina M. (Sheneman) Carter

SOUTH BEND - Katrina Marie Carter, 22, passed away on October 19, 2010 due to injuries sustained in a tragic, automobile accident. She died in Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family and loved ones. Katrina was born in Ft. Sill Oklahoma on March 10, 1988 to Todd and Penny Sheneman. After living in Europe and Texas she finally settled in South Bend, Indiana at the age of 8.
She graduated from Riley High School, was attending Ivy Tech, and planned to start at ITT to study nursing.
She wanted to care for people in need. Katrina was a CNA working at Hamilton Grove. She was a huge fan of Harry Potter and The Cubs. She spent many hours reading Tolkien and caring for her son Chase. She was a warm, open young woman who was loved very much by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Matt; her son, Chase; parents Penny and Todd Sheneman; a brother, Andrew; grandparents, John and Gloria Sheneman, all of South Bend, Indiana; grandparents, Tom and Sandy Chandley, of Elberfeld, Indiana; in-laws Brad and Theresa Carter, of Henderson, Kentucky; and many other relatives and friends.
Donations will be accepted for an education fund for her two year old son, Chase.
Visitation for Mrs. Carter will be held Friday, October 22, 2010, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 P.M. at Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home, 2702 Lincoln Way West, South Bend, Indiana. Funeral Services will take place on Saturday, October 23, 2010, in the funeral home. Visitation at 9:00 A.M. funeral services 9:30 A.M.
