MISHAWAKA - Barbara A. Sheppard, 33, of Mishawaka, passed away at 2:00 AM December 23rd at her place of employment. She was born on February 26, 1978, in Chicago, IL, and had resided in the Mishawaka area for the past 15 years. She was employed at Low Bob's Tobacco Store on LWE in Mishawaka as a clerk.

Barbara is survived by her two sons, Joseph "Joey" and Alec A. Wayer, both at home. Her mother; Dottie A. Sheppard of Mishawaka. Also by three aunts, seven sncles and numerous cousins. Also surviving is her fiancé, Jason Leyba of Mishawaka.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, James and Janis Sheppard; an aunt, Donnie Sheppard; and a cousin, James Joe Sheppard, known as "Little Joe."

She was a wonderful mother, daughter and cousin who will be dearly missed by a loving family and numerous friends she made during her life journey.

Barbara was a 1992 graduate of Riley High School in South Bend.

If my passing has left a void Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss. Ah yes, these things, I too, will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow. I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full, I savored much Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. 

The family request, in lieu of flowers, to make all memorial contributions to Barbara's mother, Dotti A. Sheppard, to assist in raising her two small sons. You can make your contribution in Dottie's name in care of the funeral home.

Visitation hours will be from 4-8 PM Tuesday, December 27th, in Hanley & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home, located at West Ireland Road / Indiana 23, South Bend. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 28th, in the funeral home. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park Granger, IN. The HANLEY & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home handled arrangements and services and extends its deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to the Sheppard family.
