Judith Ann (Grabner) Stoll

March 3, 1948 ~ June 17, 2012 (age 64) 64 Years Old

Judith Ann Stoll, 64, residing in South Bend, passed away at 3:05 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2012 at Hospice House, South Bend.  She was born on March 3, 1948 in South Bend to Dorothy Fern and Frank Grabner, and remained a lifelong area resident. On April 20, 1968 in Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church, South Bend, she married Jack Stoll, Jr., who survives.

In addition to her loving husband, Jack Stoll, Judith is survived by her daughters, Kim (Steve) Porter and Kelly (Andy) Tranberg; son, Kevin Stoll, all of South Bend; and grandchildren, Ashley Fair, Austin Fair,  Austin Tranberg and Katie and Michael Porter. She is also survived by her mother, Dorothy Fern of Mishawaka; father Frank Grabner of Mishawaka; and brothers, Darrel (Linda) Grabner of Ft. Myers, FL and Randy (Gwen) Fern of Jacksonville, FL. She is also survived by a stepsister, Barbara Quirago of TX and stepbrothers, Ron Baker of South Bend, IN and Tom Fern of Mishawaka, IN.  She was preceded in death by her stepparents,  Ruth Grabner and George Fern.

Judith was the bookkeeper for her husband's company, "Jack's Excavating".  She also cleaned at Kern Road Mennonite Church. Judith took up the accordion at the age of six and the organ in her twenties.  She made a C.D. with her accordion group "Simply Accordions". She played the pipe organ at church. Judith was part of the Gene Van's Accordion Orchestra and taught organ lessons to seniors for many years at the Battell Center.  She loved her family and her children and grandchildren meant the world to her including her "great grandpuppy, Emma".  She enjoyed time at the lake and family celebrations.  The family would like to thank Dr. Rafat Ansari, Brandi, the staff at Hospice House and Kern Road Mennonite Church for their support.    

Funeral services for Judith will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 2012 in the Kern Road Mennonite Church, 18211 Kern Road, South Bend, with Revs. David and Janice Sutter officiating. Graveside services and burial will follow in Southlawn Cemetery.  Friends may visit with the family from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday in the church.  Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel is handling the arrangements.

Linda Lou Cooper (Kunard) (1966)

 

Although I have not seen Judy for decades, I have fond memories of her.  After high school we both worked at Memorial Hospital where I met and introduced her to her husband, Jack.  If you knew them as a couple, you knew they were soul mates.  Judy's smile and genuine kindness will always be remembered by this old friend.  My sincere condolences to Jack and her family.
