Susan Marie (Toth) Fujawa
July 12, 1943 ~ March 15, 2023 79 Years Old
SOUTH BEND– Susan Marie Fujawa, 79, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2023 in St. Joseph Regional Med Center, surrounded by her family.
Sue was born on July 12, 1943 to Leslie and Dorothy (Zahoran) Toth. She graduated from Our Lady of Hungary Grade School and after graduating Riley High School in 1961 worked for 12 years for Associates. On April 11, 1970, she married Charles Stanley Fujawa who survives along with a son, Timothy (Megan) Fujawa. She was blessed with 3 adopted grandchildren (Brett, Bryan and Russ) and four great grandchildren (Noah, Willow, Nathan and Lance).
Sue greatly enjoyed playing bingo, first at Holy Family Church then at VFW Post 284 and taking dance aerobics with her many friends at the former Beal Grade School in Mishawaka. After her husband retired, they traveled to all 50 states and many foreign countries and were proud of achieving Diamond Plus status while cruising with Royal Caribbean. After a rough six months with her health, especially the last 3 weeks, Susie-Q, as her husband lovingly called her, is now at Peace with the lord.
Visitation for Sue will be held on Sunday, March 19, 2023 from 2-6pm in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue, where a rosary will be recited at 3:00. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00pm Monday in Our Lady of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
