Dolores M. (Filchak) Bognar
October 15, 1934 ~ February 1, 2023 (age 88
Dolores M. Bognar, 88, of Niles, MI, passed away on Wednesday February 1, 2023 at Brentwood in Niles. She was born on October 15, 1934, in South Bend, to the late Andrew and Mary (Scott) Filchak.
On October 25, 1958, as Dolores Filchak, she married Richard M. Bognar, Sr., who preceded her in death on February 8, 2021. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, George and Andrew Filchak. Dolores is survived by her daughter, Pam (Steven) Leszczynski of Noblesville, IN, her son, Richard (Amy) M. "Rick" Bognar, Jr.; four grandchildren, Jill (Zach) Cress of Middletown, IN, Eric Leszczynski of Indianapolis, IN, and Grant and Kaley Bognar, both of South Bend and by two great-grandchildren, Grant and Noah Cress.
Mrs. Bognar was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in White Pigeon, MI and enjoyed cooking, collecting cookbooks, reading and was a very active member of her church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. February 10, 2023 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, South Bend, where friends may visit for 45 minutes hour prior to the Mass.
