Susan Sweitzer Smith

September 22, 1949     ~     January 9, 2023

Mrs. Susan Smith of South Bend, IN departed this life peacefully on January 09, 2023 at St. Joseph Reginal Medical Center. 

Susan was born September 22, 1949 in Mansfield, OH, to Richard Harry and Jessica  Eileen (Sanford) Sweitzer who both preceded her in death along with a great grandchild, Baby Bronson.

Susan attended Riley High School. In 1975 she married Larry Smith who also preceded her in death.  

Susan enjoyed being with her family, shopping, helping her granddaughter who is deaf, doing puzzles and reading the Bible. 

Susan leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Rhonda ( Don Barr) Slusher,   Shannon (Vance Benson) Wise and Cynthia Lambert, two sons Ryan Smith and Albert (Renee) Smith, one brother, Richard (Lori) Sweitzer, 13 Grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren along with a host of other relatives and friends. 

A Memorial service honoring the life of Ms. Smith will be held on Monday January 16, 2023 at 4 P.M. in the chapel of Alford's Mortuary, 1222 Napier Street, South Bend, IN 46601. Arrangements have been entrusted with Alford's Mortuary, Inc.
