Michael David Carpenter, Jr.

February 2, 1988 ~ February 4, 2023       35 Years Old

Michael David Carpenter, Jr., 35, of South Bend, Indiana; was born February 2,1988 and passed away Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Trailpoint Village in South Bend after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Michael is survived by his Grandparents, Robert and Jacqueline Hersom of South Bend; his Mother, Candy Hersom of South Bend; his Father, Michael (Jeralyn) Carpenter, Sr. Of Mishawaka;  Aunts, Tracey and Robin Hersom, and Melinda Carpenter all of South Bend; his Sister, Mary Como of Mishawaka; his Brothers, Tyler & Tanner Carpenter, both of Mishawaka; and three nieces as well as many cousins and friends.

Michael grew up in South Bend and graduated from James Whitcomb Riley High School. He worked in retail for several auto parts stores in the area, AutoZone, Advance Auto and O’Reilly Auto Parts. Michael was an avid collector of Funko Pop. He enjoyed Pokemon cards and everything Star Wars. He also loved spending time fishing and just being outdoors. Michael especially loved to be with his friends and family (especially his brothers). Michael was a jokester and was always there to make you smile. He would give the shirt off his back to help anyone.

A Celebration of Life will be held 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. Saturday, March 11, 2023, at American Legion Post 303, 2503 Mishawaka Ave, South Bend 46615.  Memorial contributions may be made to ProMedcia Hospice of Mishawaka, 230 W Catalpa Dr D, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
