Word has been received of the death of John M. Shirk, 70, of St. Paul, Minn., formerly of Cassopolis and South Bend, who died Thursday in St. Paul-Ramsey Hospital.
Mr. Shirk was born Oct. 18, 1915, in South Bend.
On Sept. 15, 1935, in South Bend, he married Mary Summer, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Rebecca Tambeaux of St. Paul; and a brother, Forest of Battle Creek, Mich.
Services and burial have taken place. Wulff Brothers Funeral Home, St. Paul, was in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Indiana Masonic Home, Franklin, Ind.
He was a member of Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, Saladin Temple of Grand Rapids, St. Joseph Valley Masonic Lodge 4 F & AM and Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend.
