Laurence J. "Larry" Dougall, 80, of Meadow Lane, South Bend, passed away at 11:15 AM Thursday, April 14, 2005, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. Larry was born on April 9, 1925' in South Bend, to the late Kenneth and Esther (Stackman) Dougall.

On January 6, 1953, in Angola, IN, he married the former Joan Colcord. Larry is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Joan of South Bend; four sons, Kenneth Dougall and Bruce Dougall of South Bend, and Bryan Dougall and Robin Dougall of Mishawaka; nine grandchildren, Christopher, Patrick, Matthew, Adam, Andrew, Jennifer, Brandon, Anna and Katlyn Dougall; and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Charles (Agnes) Dougall of Osceola.

Larry had been a lifetime area resident, graduating from Riley High School.

He was a lifeguard at Camp Brian in Michigan where he was also the waterfront director. He was very active in the Boy Scouts. He was the Boy Scout master of Troop 374 for many years. Larry proudly served his country during World War II in the Navy. He worked for Superior Tool and Die, Elkhart, and retired after 37 years of service.
