Donald M. Stickley

July 22, 1925 -June 25. 1997

Donald Mac Stickley, 71, of South Bend, Ind., died after an illness at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Mr Stickley was born to Walter and Ethel Stickley on July 22, 1925, in South Bend, where he resided throughout his life.

He graduated from Riley High School in January 1944. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Richard; and an infant brother, Robert. He married Rosemary Hice in Marcellus, Mich., on Dec. 2, 1949. She also preceded him in death on January 24, 1977.

He married Bonnie Taylor on Dec. 15, 1978, who survives. He is also survived by a son, Alan Stickley of South Bend; four daughters, Susan Stickley and Lisa Smith, both of Mishawaka, Lucinda Seider of Granger, Ind., and Leigh McCarthy of South Bend. He was the proud grandfather of nine grandchildren, Amber Fogarty. Jimmy Fogarty, Ryan Stickley, Allison Smith, Shane Stickley, Brandon Seider, Jessica Smith, Jared Seider and Shannon McCarthy. He also had two greatgrandchildren, Ashley Fogarty and Ethan Hunt.

He will be greatly missed by his loving family Mr Stickley was employed by the South Bend Community School Corporation as an electrician for 30 years, and retired in 1987. He was a member of the International Brotherhood ot Electrical Workers 153. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II for two years in the Asiatic-Pacific. He was a member ot the Portage Lodge 675, F. &; A M., the Michiana Amateur Radio Club, and was a member of the First Christian Church of Mishawaka.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m today at the Bubb Funeral Chapel North. A Masonic service will be held today at 7 p.m. in the funeral chapel Family will also receive friends for one hour prior to services on Saturday. The funeral will be held at 10 a m. on Saturday with Rev. Terry Tate presiding. Burial will take place at Highland Cemetery in South Bend.
