OSCEOLA - Timothy F. “Muggsy” Nevelle, 70, of Osceola, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017, in his home. He was born on January 16, 1947, in South Bend, Indiana, to the late John and Agnes (Rupp) Nevelle. Timothy is survived by his daughter, Nicole “Nickie” Nevelle of Osceola, Indiana; two sisters, Yvonne (Robert) Kenny of Atlanta, Georgia, and Carole (Stephen) Pinter of Granger, Indiana; two brothers, Glenn (Nancy) Nevelle, of Kalamazoo, Michigan, and Frank (Rosie) Nevelle of Atlanta, Georgia; his uncle, Jackie Handfland; his goddaughter, Stephanie (Pinter) Lehmann; seven nieces, seven nephews; seventeen great-nieces, ten great-nephews; one great-great-niece and one great-great-nephew. Timothy was the President of Creation Windows. After his retirement, he helped start Starquest. He was an avid Notre Dame football and New York Yankees fan. Timothy was very fond of his dogs. He loved to spend time and volunteer at the St. Joseph County Humane Society. Muggsy was a big a “Teddy Bear” with a loving and giving heart. He was an outstanding athlete, and was an all-conference athlete at Upper Iowa University. Timothy served in the Vietnam War, where he flew helicopters and was a member of the Army baseball team. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates but never made it to training camp, due to an injury. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 14, 2017, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive. Funeral services will take place at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home, with Military Services to follow. The Military Services will be conducted by the United States Army and American Legion, Post 284 Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the St. Joseph County Humane Society. Online condolences may be left at www.kaniewski.com.
