Martha (Hammons) Robertson
ROBERTSON, Martha "Karen" of Clearwater was pronounced dead Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at Morton Plant Hospital surrounded by her family and friends. She was born in Harrisburg, AR April 15, 1950, and moved to South Bend, IN where she graduated from Riley High School in 1968, later moving to Florida where she attended The Brewster Adult Technical School of Tampa, earning her Degree in 1979.
She was later employed by Park, Ossian, Barnaky & Park, P.A. for 22 years. Karen was an active member of the Abundant Life Ministries serving the Lord faithfully donating her time joyfully as an End-time Handmaiden delivering hope to many in Haiti. She also brought a message of hope to many persons in jails and Prisons over 18 years, a ministry she loved above all else. Karen also served the Lord at Calvary Ministry, Largo Road Prison and working with young offenders at the Juvenile Detention Center. Karen always carried a song in her heart of praise and served singing in the choir at the Abundant Life Ministries.
She is survived by her brother Richard Hammons; sister Marsha Gootee; daughter Tangi Chialastri; son Lonny Wilson; grandchildren Ian Hammons, Anthony and Carisa Chialastri, Brent Wilson and Alexandra James; great-grandchildren, Anessa and Jadon Hammons.
She was preceded in death by her mother Johnnie Parker; father Lester Hammons and sister Faye Bakke.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, from 2 pm to 3 pm at the Abundant Life Ministries 1550 Belcher Rd. South, Largo, FL 33771, followed by services at 3 pm with Pastor Anthony McDaniel officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Abundant Life Ministries.
