David Keith Raines
January 26, 1937 ~ November 12, 2020 (age 83)
David Keith Raines, residing in Granger, passed away at 8:20 a.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at The Hearth at Juday Creek. He was 83 years old. David was born on January 26, 1937 in South Bend, IN, a son of the late Elmer B. and Berniece (Clover) Raines and has remained a lifelong resident of this area.
On May 4th, 1963 he was united in marriage to Carolyn Nelson who preceded him in death in 2008. He worked as a manufacturing representative for Kenco Plastics, retiring in 2017. David enjoyed his work immensely and it was said that he never met a stranger. He was a proud Navy man serving on the USS- Black. David was an avid Bears and Notre Dame Fan and loved attending auto auctions. He had a great love of travel even after taking his three children and wife on several cross-country driving vacations. His greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren.
David is survived by his 3 daughters, Nina (Tim) Conrad of Glen Carbon, IL, Michele Raines of Indianapolis, IN, and Jennifer (Chad) Morrison of Granger, IN. He also leaves behind his 9 grandchildren, Jordan, Cameron, Caleb, Alexandra, Dylan, Gianna, Kassandra, Eva, Rachel. He is also survived by his sister in law, Mary Lou Elder. David is preceded in death by his siblings, Grace Raines, Nina Raines, and Bud Raines.
Private Family Services for Mr. Raines will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2020. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery. Palmer Funeral Home – Guisinger Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
