Patricia Ann Sult, mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend to many, died on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at age 83.

The friends and valued colleagues in her life were numerous. She particularly fancied smart men and women. She loved her husband, Kenneth Sult (deceased), who passed away in 1993, and recently made a commitment of companionship with Ronald Bella (South Bend, Indiana). She adored her younger sister Delores Cucjen, and husband, Romulo Cucjen (Surpise, Arizona). She worshipped her mother, Marguerite Carpenter Bradfute (Deceased) and father Robert Glenn Bradfute (deceased) both characters in their own right, and her family from Gary, Indiana, her birthplace. Pat over the years became an inspiration to the Sult family and her husband’s siblings, Richard Sult (deceased), Margaret Sult (deceased) Sue Sult Bergen, Thomas Sult (deceased) and Robert Sult. She married Ken Sult in 1950 and remained married until his untimely death. They had one daughter Stacey Sult (Shelley Buck) South Bend, Indiana, and four sons Jon (deceased) Steve (Teresa) Niles, Michigan, Scott (Robyn) South Bend, Indiana, and Shane (Kathy) South Bend, Indiana. Pat leaves seven grandchildren, Todd (Trina) Sult, Matthew Sult, Christopher Sult, Michael Sult, Travis Sult, Chadd (Ashley) Sult, Emily Sult. Also great-grandchildren, Carson Sult, Jackson Sult, Pierson Sult, Mickleson Sult, Lesiah Pigee, Isaac Pigee, Bryson Pigee. Pat also was blessed with step grandchildren, Courtney Harner, Kaitlyn Summers, Kyle Wojtys, and Collin Walsh.

Pat worked for the South Bend Community School Corporation where she was employed for over 25 years at Swanson School, McKinley School and John Adams High School as the administrative assistant to each schools’ principal. She was a member of WELCA and served on the church council. She belonged to the SBCSC Secretaries Association and Retired Secretaries Association. She was a member of the South Bend Elks Lodge #235, The University Club of Notre Dame, a proud member of the “Riley Lunch Bunch” and the Riley High Alumni Association. She served as a volunteer for the Center for History. Pat also took pride in volunteer work with Gloria Dei Lutheran Church where she attended services as a young girl, married Ken in 1950 and continued to be a passionate supporter of the church for over 70 years.

There will be a casual reception before the funeral on Saturday, January 23, 2016 to meet with the family and share stories. Join them in the fellowship hall at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 225 East Haney Avenue, South Bend, Indiana 46612 from 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The service will begin promptly at 12:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church for their building fund. The family would also like to thank Memorial Hospital’s physicians and nursing staff who took great care of her; specifically, Dr. Olajide Benson, the Emergency Room physicians and nurses, ICU staff, 7th floor staff, and the 10th floor staff.
