Doris P. Clauson
September 8, 1925 ~ May 31, 2021 (age 95)
Doris P. Clauson, 95, of Dowagiac, Michigan, formerly of South Bend, Indiana, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021. She was born on September 8, 1925 in South Bend, Indiana, to the late Oliver F. and Hulda S. (Jenkins) Dreibelbis. On June 25, 1965, she married George W. Clauson, who preceded her in death on October 31, 2011. Doris was also preceded in death by her daughter, Teri A. Bradshaw on June 9, 2007, and her sister Ruth Ann Flowers. She is survived by one granddaughter, Terra S. (Barry) Yakim of Dowagiac, Michigan, four great-grandchildren, Corey R. Kovatch, Zachary H. Yakim, Caitlyn A. Yakim, and Barry S. Yakim, Jr., and one great-great-grandchild, Logan W. Kovatch.
Doris was a graduate of Riley High School in South Bend. She attended South Bend College of Commerce, now known as Michiana College. Doris was employed at Studebaker Corp. She was the former President of the Mary Ann Club at Studebaker Corp. She also previously worked at Lowe Foundation in Cassopolis Michigan, the founder of Tidy Cat & Kitty Litter. She finished her working career at 1st Source Bank in South Bend.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 4, 2021 in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr., South Bend, Indiana 46628 from 3:00 until 4:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm in the funeral home. Cremation will follow. Doris will be laid to rest with her husband in Highland Cemetery at a later date.
