Betty J. (Rosewicz) Comer
June 11, 1926 - Nov. 21, 2013 SOUTH BEND - Betty June Comer (Rosewicz), 87, of South Bend, IN, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2013, at home with her husband by her side. Betty was born on June 11, 1926, in South Bend, IN, to Hubert Rosewicz and Emily Clara Rosewicz (Grueger), both of whom have preceded her in death as well as both her sisters.
She was also preceded in death by one child, Gary Comer. and one grandchild, Cheryl Comer.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Comer, who she married on June 30, 1946; and her children, Dennis Comer (Diana), John Comer, Bruce Comer (Cathie) and Julie Stogsdill (Kevin). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Betty was a graduate of Riley High School and worked for many years at Sobol and Aucilla Plastics. She loved spending time with her family and friends and rarely missed a Saturday lunch or a morning donut at the bakery. She loved to crochet, do embroidery, and spoil her dogs. She was a member of Forestbrook Missionary Church and enjoyed the talks she had with Pastor Ron Drake.
Friends and family may visit on Monday, November 25, 2013, at Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Rd., between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at Smith's Chapel, 29858 Redfield Street, Niles, Michigan, with Rev. Ron Drake officiating. Burial will follow at Smith's Chapel Cemetery. Contributions in Betty's memory may be made to The Center for Hospice Care, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
