David E. Skwarcan

November 7, 1948 - June 30, 2021

Nappanee - David E. Skwarcan, 72, passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2021.

Dave was born November 7, 1948 in South Bend, to the late Arthur and Helen Laskowski Skwarcan. He was also preceded in death by his wife Carol Skwarcan.

Left to cherish the memory of Dave are his daughters, Wendy (Jason) Stoll, Denise Skwarcan, Tina (Tom) Krok, Kim (Jim) Babcock; sisters, Marcia (Roy) Brooke, Barb (Dave) Lemanski; brother, Jim (Glynnis) Skwarcan; grandchildren, Cameron (Sierra Dupree) McCartney, Alexis (Lilly) McCartney, Kaitlyn (Gus) StCin, Emma Stoll, Nicholas (Emily Dennis) Skwarcan, Hannah & Max Krok; and great grandchildren, Peyton & Mason StCin, Christopher & Stella Dupree; and numerous nieces & nephews.

Dave was a huge Disney fan. He enjoyed playing Euchre, coaching many of his children's sports, watching professional wrestling, and gardening with a cigar while listening to the Cubs. Dave was also a big Notre Dame fan, especially Women's Basketball, and also a Chicago Bears fan. Christmas was his favorite holiday and he loved to decorate. He loved playing Legos and dollies with his granddaughter Emma. Dave enjoyed being on the water, fishing, the Mannheim Steam Roller and Trans-Siberian Orchestra. He liked to shop at Walmart, and was big on Polish tradition and the Polish foods his daughters would make. He helped with Bingo at church and loved doing jigsaw puzzles in his spare time. His grandchildren would like everyone to know that he was the best papa ever!

The family wishes to especially thank Goshen Hospital ICU and Courtyard Health Care Facility for the love and care they provided.

Visitation for Dave will be 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm Friday, July 9, 2021 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. with a Memorial Service to begin at 5:30 pm the Funeral Home Chapel. All are welcome to share their precious memories of Dave during the service.
