John Dale Swank

August 27, 1947 – April 14, 2018

SOUTH BEND – John Dale Swank, 70, passed away Saturday evening, April 14, 2018 at Trailpoint Village Nursing Home, South Bend.

John was born on August 27, 1947 in Mishawaka, Indiana to the late James Swank and Maribell (Hunter) Akin.  His passion in life was serving in ministry and doing evangelistic work.  He enjoyed preaching in area Nursing Homes and visiting with the residents.  He also enjoyed working in the medical field giving assistance to physicians as needed.  And finally, he loved being on the road driving trucks.  John will be dearly missed by family and friends.

John is survived by his sister, Beth (Ron) Randolph of Osceola, IN; brother, William “Bill” (Debbie) Akin of Waterloo, IN; nieces, Tami (Habib) Ali of South Bend, IN, Jennifer Akin and Erin Akin, both of Waterloo, IN; nephews, Matt (Jen) Coffel and Troy Coffel both of Bremen, IN; great-nieces and great nephews, Austin Coffel, Caleb Coffel, Madison Coffel, Olivia Ali, Amir Ali, and Jonah Akin.
