SOUTH BEND - Kim William Trinkley, 65, was born July 4, 1951, and passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017, in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. He attended St. Matthew's grade school, Riley High School and graduated from Indiana University at South Bend. He was an entrepreneur and secured a patent for his creative thinking. Kim is survived by his daughter, Erin Smith and husband Ora; and two grandsons, Harrison and Nolan of Statesboro, GA; his daughter, Katy Trinkley and husband John Staley of Denver, CO; his former wife, Pam Trinkley of South Bend, IN; brother, Jan Trinkley and wife Priscilla of Walnut, CA; sister, Joy Heffernan and Tom of Cincinnati, OH; and sister-in-law, Ruth Trinkley of Nappanee, IN. He also leaves behind many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jane (Berndt) and Zane Trinkley, his brother, Val Trinkley, and son, Errol Trinkley. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 1, 2017, in Christ the King Catholic Church.
