MAYES, Jr., Joseph W., Technical Sergeant, Ret. age 63, of Dayton, went to be with his loving wife, Carolyn J. Mayes February 27, 2012. He retired from the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Dragon Boys Club and Brother of the Masonic Order. Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph W. Mayes, Sr. and Florence O. Harris (Milton Harris, Sr.); brother, Willie James Robinson. He leaves to cherish his memories his son, Joseph W. Mayes, III; daughter, Ayonna M. Epps; sisters, Johnnie Harris & Pearl (Desmond) Finley; brothers, Milton Jr. (Sherry), Melvin, David (Jill) and Bobby Joe (Denise) Harris; sister-in-law, Mattie Robinson; a host of grandchildren, stepchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held 1 pm Monday, March 5, 2012 at the HOUSE OF WHEAT Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. Pastor Samuel J. Fambro officiating. Interment Dayton National Cemetery.
