Lynda S. Primrose Price

August 22, 1949 - May 6, 2018

NILES - Lynda Susan Price passed away on Sunday, May 6 at home with loved ones, following an extended illness.

She was born on August 22, 1949, in South Bend, Indiana, to the late Robert and Rosemary Primrose.

She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Jeffrey Price, and her son, Jared Price of Chicago, Illinois. Lynda is also survived by her brothers, Thomas (Veronica) Primrose of South Bend, Indiana and Robert (Pam) Primrose of Mishawaka, Indiana.

Lynda graduated from Riley High School in 1967 and obtained a Bachelors Degree and Masters of Fine Arts from Indiana University. Shortly after graduate school, Lynda worked as a flight attendant for TWA Airlines. She then went on to teach fine arts in the South Bend School System for over 30 years. In addition to teaching, she was an adventurous person who loved to travel the world.

As an accomplished artist, she sold works of art and has been recognized in various galleries and art shows across the country. Through her passion of fine arts, she brought individuals of all walks of life together. She taught pottery to friends and family, always encouraging and supporting their work. In addition to her passion for fine arts, Lynda also loved horses. She spent many years raising and competing horses, and she shared that joy by providing riding lessons to children and adults alike.

Due to Lynda's strong belief in faith and humanity, philanthropic work played a fundamental role in her life. Lynda volunteered at multiple organizations including the Edwardsburg Food Pantry, Healthwin in South Bend, and Unbound Charity, where she sponsored a child in an underdeveloped country. After her diagnosis, she also became a mentor through Imerman Angels, where she used her personal experience to provide support for other cancer patients.

Lynda was a wonderful person who treated everyone with kindness and respect. A Mass celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, May 12 at 11am at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, located on US12 in Edwardsburg, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, we instead ask that you donate to Caring Circle (Hospice); www.lakelandhealth.org; or ImermanAngels.org.

McGann Hay Funeral Homes and their American Cremation Society was entrusted with the cremation. To send condolences to the family log on to: www. McGannHay.com.
