SOUTH BEND - Ronald G. Barson, 81, of South Bend, died Tuesday, October 10th, at Hospice House of South Bend. Ron was born April 22, 1936, in South Bend, to the late Margaret (Hegyi) and George Barson, and was a lifetime area resident. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn A. Barson; daughter, Terri Stanage, and her daughter, Jennifer; sons, Tim Barson (Sheryl) and Scott Barson (Jackie), and their daughter, Jordan.

Ron was a 1954 graduate of Riley High School and was a veteran of the United States Marines from 1954 to 1956 and was a member of the National Guard for eight years. He retired from A.M. General in 1998 after 27 years and also was employed part-time at Hertz Car Rentals for 12 years. He was active at Chet Waggoner Little League where he served as President.

At Ron's request there will be no funeral service or visitation. The Barson family would like to thank Dr. Bilal Ansari and his staff, St. Joseph Regional Medical Center sixth floor oncology, and Center for Hospice Care Hospice House in Roseland.
