SOUTH BEND, IN - Michael “Milan” Medich, 75, of South Bend, passed away Monday, November 5, 2018 at 6:18 A.M., after an extended illness at Sprenger Health Care in Mishawaka.

Milan was born in Indianapolis, IN to the late Michael L. and Mildred S. (Soloman) Medich. He moved to South Bend at the age of 3.

Milan was a graduate of James Whitcomb Riley High School and earned his teaching degree from Bethel College.

He taught in the South Bend Community School Corporation for a number of years, then ventured into the restaurant business. He owned and operated Tom's Restaurant in downtown South Bend and Morrow's Restaurant in Mishawaka respectfully. He returned to the South Bend Community School Corporation again in 1998 until his retirement in 2012.

Milan married Donna W. Wuchenich on October 25, 1970, in South Bend at St. Peter & Paul Serbian Orthodox Church. They shared 43 wonderful years together.

Milan was preceded in death by Donna on May 17, 2013; his son, Jovan S. Medich on September 26, 2009; and his brother, Steven P. Medich on March 20, 2008.

Milan is survived by his loving daughter, Danica M. Medich and his devoted grandchildren, Evan M. and Milena A. Sadewasser of South Bend, the light and life of Milan's life, as well as many extended family, friends, and kumovi.

Milan devoted most of his life to the St. Peter & Paul Serbian Orthodox Church where he served many terms as president and vice president of the church as well as the church choir director for over 50 years. Milan played in a Tamburitzan Orchestra for more than 60 years and spread and shared his love of Serbian folk music across the United States and Canada, in addition to being a devoted member of the Serbian Singing Federation of America and Canada. His love of music and singing was an integral part of who he was.

Milan was an active member of the Studebaker Drivers Club and bought and sold over 175 cars in his lifetime.

Milan's family requests, PLEASE NO FLOWERS; all memorial contributions are to be made to the family at 23421 State Road 23, South Bend, IN 46614. The family would also like to thank specifically the nurses and personal care assistants of Sprenger Healthcare for the devoted love and care they gave to Milan in the last months of his life.

Visitation will take place on Friday, November 9 at St. Peter & Paul Serbian Orthodox Church, 29248 Keria Trail, South Bend, IN from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with a Pomen Service at 7:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 10 at 11:00 A.M. with visitation one hour before at the church, with Fr. Vladimir Lange officiating. Entombment will follow at Southlawn Cemetery in South Bend.
