Carol Louise Nye
April 6, 1943 ~ April 28, 2022 (age 79)
Carol Louise Nye, 79 years old, passed away at 3:05 a.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at the Center for Hospice in Mishawaka. Carol was born on April 6, 1943 in South Bend to the late Lewis K. and Letha (Specht) Nye. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Patricia Garcia and Rita Nye.
Carol was raised in South Bend and moved to Chicago when she was 20 years old. She retired in 2013 after 17 years with Kelly & Elliott. When she retired, she was Vice-President of Kelly & Elliott, a high risk insurance company. She was also a former President of the Underwriters Brokers Association of Chicago. After retirement, Carol moved back to the South Bend area.
Carol is survived by her two sisters, Phyllis Smith of South Bend and Mary Kaser of Bremen. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at the Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
